Overtly Boring Quest Mechanics
WoW has not changed much across the board, from dainty graphics to boring quest mechanics this game has not adapted to modern world multiplayer changes very well. 12 years ago there was pretty much the same formula that every multiplayer franchise had to stick with. Most of the time it was repeating certain activities in the form of allotted quests such as raiding villages, collecting ten different items, and then looting gold and repeating. WoW still stick with the same mechanics, although now you can kill the monsters with flying machines or take a ride on friendly giants but the end quest kind of remains the same.
Other multiplayer arenas have incorporated several other things into the mix such as dialogue options, altering the timeline of the game by making certain decisions as a player or a whole team, and many more while WoW remains stuck with the same boring quest mechanics. These repetitive quests are what drive players away from the game and until these go completely obsolete from the game there is no way that the game might survive.
No Refreshing Experience Whatsoever
When things don’t change with time they go extinct, pretty much what happened with Dinosaurs, they didn’t adapt to the climatic change and they are only history today. Many players over the years have taken a break from WoW due to personal reasons or fighting game addiction. But when they joined in a year later or so they were absolutely shocked to see that nothing had changed whatsoever. This made many of them quit the game altogether.
The main questline has furthered no question there and there have been many new raiding options and stuff but at the core of the game, there is no new concept being rolled in. Things are just added into the elaborative game sections such as new content added into the quest section of the game, new dungeons in the dungeon section, and so on so. Nothing new or exciting ever takes place. This is one of the reasons furthering the closing of the game for good.
Realization Of All That Wasted Time By Gamers
This reason doesn’t affect WoW only but many other multiplayer titles out there. When players invest hundreds or thousands of hours looming blindly into their favorite multiplayer title somewhere along the line their interest in this whole thing starts to deteriorate. In the beginning, it is all new and fresh but when time goes by and nothing significant is happening or being introduced in the game to tempt the curiosity of the players most of them meet with the dawn of realization.
Realizing that nobody cares for them, they don’t have a social life and the dearest game in which they have invested all this time has yielded them nothing. This is the number one reason why many players quit playing games altogether and for WoW it just becomes more explosive because the game literally doesn’t offer any productive twists or turns to make players stick so most of them quit.
Developers Might Mess Up A Future Expansion For Wow
There have been too many expansions for the WoW over the years, 6 to be precise but these expansions have lost and added many players all this time. Many might love the new expansion, start playing it and invite their friends over while others might hate it and leave the game until a new expansion comes out. It has been kind of a roller coaster ride for WoW in terms of the expansion success and the number of players present at a given time period.
Every expansion requires more hard work than the previous in order for the players to love it but in the last couple of expansions, it seems that Blizzard is losing heart and not bringing any originality to the screens. It is a possibility no matter how rare it may sound that Blizzard might ruin an upcoming expansion by not bringing any original element of the game in reach of the gamers and that might register as the ultimate end for the franchise.
