The Use Of Gadgets In Education In The Age Of Smart Technologies

Modern society is at the stage of changing the technological paradigm. Information technologies that defined the image and essence of the twentieth century are giving way to SMART technologies that open up new ways of development of the world’s states.

This is reflected in the State Program for the Development of Education, which has defined a set of measures to improve the quality of education and upbringing:

Educational programs get more comprehensive, so students need to use Technologies and essay help to improve academic performance.

We will have to modernize teaching methods and actively develop online education systems by creating regional school centers. We must intensively introduce innovative methods, solutions, and tools into the domestic education system, including distance learning and online training, available to everyone, change the orientation and emphasis of the curricula of secondary and higher education, including programs for teaching practical skills and obtaining practical qualifications…”.

The formation of a SMART society manifests itself as a global trend. The Netherlands, Australia, and Korea declared SMART as a national idea and the main political task: the Netherlands adopted the Development Strategy until 2030″Top Economy, Smart Society”, in Australia – the Strategy 2030 “On the way to a stronger SMART country through a revolution in education”, in the Republic of Korea-“SMART – Education”-a basic system solution in building a SMART society and one of the main ways to strengthen the competitiveness of the national economy.

Use of  IT in Education

The development in this direction is initiated by the IT industry, which creates the infrastructure of a SMART society. The concept of SMART education arose as a result of the introduction of the concept of SMART into all aspects of modern human activity: a variety of smart devices that facilitate the process of professional activity and personal life (smartphone, smart home, smart car-an intelligent car, smartboard-an interactive intelligent electronic board, etc.).

With the education, SMART technologies are considered both as the use of various gadgets (smartphones, tablets, and other similar devices) to deliver knowledge to students and as a tool for forming an integrated intellectual virtual learning environment. The need to develop an integrated intellectual educational environment is based on a sufficient degree of development of SMART technologies, the intensity of their penetration into everyday life, on the regularities of the reaction of the education system to the constantly changing challenges of the time. The main reason for the use and implementation of SMART education is the need to improve the existing education system under the new requirements of the SMART economy and SMART society.

In this article, we will focus on the use of gadgets in the educational process of a secondary school.

Use of Gadgets in Education

Gadgets can help to better study and understand any subject, provide mobility and help to adapt new teaching methods through SMART technologies. Today it is difficult to imagine a school without computers, interactive whiteboards, and the Internet. In each class, children have an idea of modern means of communication and confidently use them. The idea that we need a phone only for calls, sending a letter is necessary only for employees of post offices, or searching for information is possible only after going to the library. In education, the flow of information under the pressure of the requirements of the modern world is growing from year to year. Printing houses do not have time to publish the necessary number of educational publications, let alone deliver them to the end-user. But education is the forge of our future. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine modern education without the use of gadgets in its new teaching approaches.

Gadgets In The Modern World Are Widely Used In All Areas.

For example,

In software, a widget is a small application that provides additional information, for example, a weather forecast or currency exchange rate.

Tablets

A tablet is a mobile computer belonging to the type of tablet computer with a screen diagonal from 7 to 12 inches, built on a hardware platform of the same class as the smartphone platform. To control the Internet tablet, a touch screen is used, interaction with which is carried out with the help of fingers, without using a physical keyboard and mouse. Text input on the touch screen is generally not inferior to the keyboard in terms of speed. Many modern Internet tablets allow you to use multi-touch gestures to control programs.

Tablets usually can be constantly connected to the Internet — via Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connection. Therefore, it is convenient to use Internet tablets for web surfing, launching web applications, and interacting with any web services.

It should be borne in mind that an Internet tablet is currently not a complete replacement for a PC or laptop, since its functionality is limited by high requirements for its mobility (a combination of low power consumption and dimensions).

A tablet computer is a collective concept that includes various types of mobile devices with a touch screen. A tablet computer can be controlled by touching a hand or a stylus; the keyboard and mouse are not always available.

Smartphone

A smartphone is a mobile phone supplemented with the functionality of a pocket personal computer.

A communicator (English communicator, PDA phone) is a pocket personal computer (PDA) supplemented with the functionality of a mobile phone.

Although mobile phones almost always had additional functions (a calculator, a calendar), more and more intelligent models were produced over time, the term “smartphone” was introduced to emphasize the increased functionality and computing power of such models. In the era of the increasing popularity of PDAs, PDAs with mobile phone functions began to be produced, such devices were called communicators.

Smartphones differ from conventional mobile phones by having a sufficiently developed operating system that is open to software development by third-party developers (the operating system of conventional mobile phones is closed to third-party developers). Installing additional applications allows you to significantly improve the functionality of smartphones compared to conventional mobile phones.

However, recently, the border between “ordinary” phones and smartphones has been increasingly erased, modern phones have long acquired functionality that was once inherent only in smartphones, for example, email and HTML browsers, as well as multitasking.

To create a SMART learning tool from a digitogy, you need to install additional software.

App Store/Play market offers the user a wide range of categories for both leisure and learning.

In the section “Education” you can find and install these programs as a “Tutor in mathematics”, “English-Russian translator”

For example, in the study of the natural Sciences, there is a possibility to install applications that can make your gadget device, such as a ruler, level meter, distance meter, altimeter, compass, metal detector, etc.

Final Words

Gadgets will be no less useful when studying humanities. These are spell-checking simulators, dictionaries, language tutors, etc.

Having understood all the functionality of gadgets, we can say with confidence that this is a universal tool for accessing additional resources for mastering general school subjects.
