In the workplace, giving your employer two weeks’ notice is considered official notice. It is given before you intend to quit your position.
This notice is being sent to your employer to advise them that you will be leaving the company on a certain date. A traditional courtesy, and in certain cases, a requirement to formally depart, this letter is considered necessary.

The Shift of Authority
Finally, communicate your willingness to assist with the transition. You don’t need to go into great depth (and certainly don’t make any promises you can’t keep), but a few lines emphasizing that you’ll ensure your obligations are performed easily will demonstrate your commitment to the finish.
